The waters around Malta are some of the most limpid and clear in the world. Visibility is excellent down to around 30 metres. The geology of the islands is unique, producing a varied coast line that includes everything from deep water cliffs to labyrinthine sea caves to shallow reefs and sandy bays.

When you add to these the 5,000 years of recorded maritime history, producing wrecks and archaeological sites from WW2 to Roman galleons. The Maltese islands form a very special centre for diving at the heart of the Mediterranean. The vibrant colours of fauna and flourishing marine life found amongst the reefs and caves provide stunning locations for underwater photography. The wreck diving is renowned as some of the best in the world.

With over 40 registered dive sites just a stone's throw away from each other, you will be able to explore a variety of underwater worlds very easily and with little current or tide, very safely. A favourite of Jacques Cousteau who fell in love with the variety of dive sites, ending his career by mapping the many sites and who’s boat Calypso, was berthed here.

There are numerous dive centres with a track record of some 30 years in the industry supplying guides for experienced divers or professional tuition for your first dive experience. These dive centres are internationally qualified and will safely show you around Malta’s unique under sea world.
