The British Navy left in 1979 leaving Malta with massive comprehensive dockyard facilities with skilled labour that draws on generations (father to son) of ship building and repair. These facilities have been refined over the last 20 years into a service centre for modern shipping that includes specialist facilities for luxury pleasure craft and many of the Worlds Super Yacht fleet.
As growing base for pleasure craft the dockyards are constantly evolving to meet demands. Development of a unique and custom designed dry dock and service facility for luxury cruisers and super yachts includes a drive in Covered Dock for craft up to 70 meters. Your yacht serviced and teak decks sanded and oiled with superstructure polished and sealed whilst under cover and still afloat, now that is a luxury most boats never see after leaving the factory.
With Malta expanding into one of the major yachting centre within Europe and with her government backing the creation of more marinas and pleasure craft facilities, Sunseeker Malta is at the forefront of this development. Expanding centres like the beautifully located Grand Harbour Marina and the modern customised Portomaso Complex with Casino, Hilton Hotel and protected marina. The newly completed Tigne Point luxury marina village and the newly started Smart City Marina development all combine with the dockyard facilities to make Malta a haven for owners in a tropical paradise of great cruising and economic running costs.
